Promax Protein Bars Review

The Promax bars come in a variety of flavors including; cookies and cream, lemon, nutty butter crisp, chocolate mint, honey peanut, and others. The Promax bar also comes in a lighter version, Promax 70, with only 70 calories and 5 grams of protein. The regular Promax bar contains 280 calories, 20 grams of protein, 6 grams of fat, and 38 grams of total carbohydrates. Sugar makes up 27 grams of those carbohydrates.

The high sugar content may be the trick to the candy bar flavor. It is not so good for the dieting buyer but for someone just looking for a good tasting source of extra protein, without regard for sugar, it might be okay. The low fat content would be good for someone following a low fat plan. The 20 grams of protein is respectable, but is offset by a larger carbohydrate content. The nutrient breakdown does come close to a regular low fat meal, and this may make a good meal replacement, snack, or pre workout bar.

Promax, like many other protein and energy bars, claims to be #1 in independent taste testing. Taste is important, but so is overall content. Promax has a good supply of quality protein, with 20 grams, and if sugar is no issue, then the flavor makes this a good choice. However, for a person looking to lose fat or someone with blood sugar control issues, the sugar content might be a bit high for regular consumption.

This protein bar is worth a try, especially for those people who have had a hard time choking down those bars with little taste and gritty, tough texture. If sugar is not an issue this might just be the bar to change your mind about protein bars.
